Francis Bacon was born in Dublin in 1909 and died in 1992 in Madrid.

Biography

Francis Bacon was born in Dublin (Ireland) in 1909. Dismissed by his father to the family, he moved to London in 1926. Away from any art school, Bacon painted by himself. His first personal exhibition was organized in 1934 (Transition Gallery) before achieving any success. Bacon will refused for the Surrealist exhibition in 1936. In 1940, Bacon destroyed almost all of his first canvas. The artist will claim his work just from 1944. At that time, Bacon treats violently sacred and human cry. His work began to be considered from a group exhibition in 1945 (London). It is fixed inthe south of France (1945-1950). Exhibited regularly since 1949, the success of the artist will now only grow. He died in Madrid (Spain) in 1992.
