In 2020, Lelong Editions began to publish the etchings that Simone Fattal, longtime companion of Etel Adnan, had engraved in 2019 at Atelier Tazé in Paris, with the technical assistance of master printmaker Bérengère Lipreau. These superb prints bring back many memories and remembrances of Simone’s childhood and youth in Syria. Several of them have been displayed in Simone’s recent show at the Whitechapel Art Gallery in London. This year, a second group of prints has been issued and will be shown for the first time in the USA. Simone Fattal is one of the artists selected by Cecilia Alemani for the main show of the Venice Biennale 2022. She is also present at the Biennale de Lyon, recently opened.
This year’s booth will present home made prints and etchings by David Hockney, reflecting the longtime collaboration with the artist and his studio.
In 2019, Lelong Editions published a series of etchings by French-Cameroonian artist Barthélémy Toguo. Each aquatint’s title refers to Cameroon rivers and will be presented this year at the IFPDA. After a successful exhibition at Quai Branly in 2021, Barthélémy Toguo presents a new museum exhibition at the Museu Picasso in Barcelona, and a monumental installation has just been unveiled inside the pyramid of the Louvre, France.
In 2020, Galerie Lelong & Co. presented the Fabienne Verdier exhibition « Arias », featuring almost twenty new silkscreens, including a few handcoloured ones. In October 2022, the Unterlinden Museum in Colmar, France, is dedicating an exhibition to Fabienne Verdier’s latest series of paintings « The Song of Stars ».
Earlier this year, the Yorkshire Sculpture Park presented a retrospective of works on paper by David Nash, that spanned over four decades of his artistic life. New and recents stencils on paper by the British sculptor will be presented at the fair.
