Biography
Born in Sweden in 1962, Mamma Andersson is a major figure in European painting. Her dreamlike and melancholic work explores themes of memory, isolation and nature. A graduate of the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm, she has exhibited at institutions including the He Art Museum (China), the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art (Denmark), Museum Haus Lange Haus Esters (Germany) and the Aspen Art Museum (United States).
Her works are held in the collections of prestigious museums such as the Musée National d’Art Moderne (MNAM) in Paris, the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York and Moderna Museet in Stockholm.
