Galerie Lelong brings together three artists, Mamma Andersson, Nalini Malani and Alison Saar, whose singular and powerful graphic universes converge in a group exhibition. Hailing from three continents — Europe, Asia and North America — these artists, though stylistically distinct, share a fascination with the human figure and its relationship to the world, explored through the poetic language of their visual practices.
Recently celebrated on the international art scene for the richness of their work, these three artists offer an immersion into imaginary worlds in which printmaking becomes a fertile ground for narrative freedom.
Mamma Andersson Born in Sweden in 1962, Mamma Andersson is a major figure in European painting. Her dreamlike and melancholic work explores themes of memory, isolation and nature. A graduate of the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm, she has exhibited at institutions including the He Art Museum (China), the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art (Denmark), Museum Haus Lange Haus Esters (Germany) and the Aspen Art Museum (United States).
Her works are held in the collections of prestigious museums such as the Musée National d’Art Moderne (MNAM) in Paris, the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York and Moderna Museet in Stockholm.
Nalini Malani Born in 1946 in Karachi, then part of undivided India, Nalini Malani lives and works between Mumbai and Amsterdam. Her practice explores the condition of women through mythological figures such as Radha, Sita and Medea, as well as literary characters such as Alice.
In 2007, she participated in the 52nd Venice Biennale and was the subject of a retrospective at the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) in Dublin. Galerie Lelong first presented her work in 2009 with *Cassandra*. Following solo exhibitions at the Centre Pompidou, the Stedelijk Museum and Castello di Rivoli, she received the Fukuoka Prize in 2013 and the Joan Miró Prize in 2019.
In 2026, her major work *Of Woman Born* received significant acclaim at the Venice Biennale. Her work will soon be exhibited at EMMA – Espoo Museum of Modern Art, the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Humlebæk and Tate Modern in London.
Alison Saar Alison Saar, an American sculptor and painter born in Los Angeles in 1956, explores female identity through works inspired by African American culture and a critique of colonial mythology. Educated at Scripps College and the Otis Art Institute, she has worked for more than 40 years across sculpture, installation and printmaking — including woodcut and lithography — often incorporating found objects such as jute bags, handkerchiefs and mops.
Galerie Lelong and the artist began their collaboration in 2022 with the exhibition *Backwater Blues*, followed by *Sweet Life* in 2025.
Her works are held in prestigious collections including those of MoMA, the Whitney Museum of American Art, LACMA and the Smithsonian, and can also be found in public spaces across various cities in the United States.
In 2024, her sculpture *Salon* was inaugurated between Place de la Concorde and the Petit Palais in Paris. Recipient of the David C. Driskell Prize in 2025, she was commissioned by the Obama Foundation for a work unveiled in June at the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago in 2026.
